The Company

Our client is a well-established ASX Listed gold production and exploration company currently focussing on their international Indonesian project, producing high grade, low cost gold from their open cut activities in a mineral rich province.

Due to continued growth and success, our client is seeking to engage with a highly capable and enthusiastic Mining Manager, to join their team.

The Opportunity

Working 20 days on: 10 days off, FIFO roster to Indonesia, the Mining Manager will play a direct role in developing the business goals for the mine and a plan to ensure those goals are met.

This is an instrumental and strategic role in the long-term development of the mine life, implementing successful open pit mining methods and contributing to feasibility studies for a potential underground operation.

You will be responsible for providing operational leadership to the Mining Department, including production, planning, drill and blast and grad control teams, ensuring all team members have the required capability, systems, processes and tools to deliver safe and sustainable gold recovery. You will also need to manage the mining contractor.

You will apply tactical know-how in improving the current production plan, maximise engineering and geotechnical requirements whilst having a high level of focus on ore/waste management, dig method, production metrics, dump management and compliance to plan. You will champion mine production initiatives that drive safety, cost, people, ore/waste volume, and identify any constraints that prevent the achievement of production targets.

You will develop, implement and govern mining systems and procedures, as well as manage mining costs and budgets, making recommendations and adjustments where required.

About You

You will have significant experience working in a similar role in open pit narrow vein Gold Mining, have a Bachelor of Mining Engineering (or equivalent) and hold an unrestricted QM ticket. Formal business qualifications, underground mining experience and previous experience working in Indonesia will be considered advantageous.

You will have in-depth knowledge of mine planning, geology, drill & blast, mining principals and demonstrated experience managing contractors. You must hold a valid passport and be prepared to work internationally in our remote Indonesian project, working 20 days on 10 days off roster.

As an energetic and adaptive leader, you will be hands on in your approach and not shy away from rolling your sleeves up and getting your boots dirty to support the mining teams. You will be highly organised with excellent time management abilities, exceptional communication skills, technically and commercially astute, possess high attention to detail and have strong analytical and problem-solving skills. You will be a relationship builder with strong influencing capabilities, that can be utilised to develop productive relationships with all stakeholders.
